I am so excited that there’s a new market coming to St. Pete! You know I love the Saturday Morning Market and the Gulfport Tuesday Fresh Market. The St. Pete Indie Market will be a little different. It’s a monthly market that will take up the up and coming 600 Block of St. Petersburg, which is the home of many galleries, shops, design studios and my favorite candy store. Unlike the other local markets, this one will have an arts focus. You’ll find artists, designers, crafters, multi-media gurus and green-thumbs.

The St Pete Indie Market will be held the first Saturday of every month, starting tomorrow (March 3rd) from noon until 6pm. I’m not sure if this will be the most kid-friendly market, but I think it could be a great follow up to a lunch date. I recommend grabbing lunch at Red Mesa Cantina, just a short walk away. I love the mofongo and duck quesadillas! Here’s a video review of the downtown St. Pete restaurant on my YouTube channel.

I think I’ll try to hit the market by myself while my kids are napping. While I’m there I’ll probably stop by some of the great downtown St. Pete shops, like Ramblin’ Rose Upcycle, The Trunk Stylists and Eugenia Woods. You can expect Facebook photo albums for each business I visit and probably a follow-up blog post about the market itself.
